Writer: Melissa Rosenberg (screenplay), Steaphenie Meyer (Novel)
Language: English
Star Cast: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Xavier Samual, Dakota Fanning, Anna Kendrik, Ashley Green, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser and others
‘Twilight - Eclipse’ one of the most awaited movie of 2010. This is third installment of Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novel. We get much more action, much more drama in this movie.
Bella (played by Kristen Stewart) is still living in Forks with her dad; she is grounded by her father for her Italian adventures in last movie ‘New Moon’ and also he wanted Bella to date someone else other than Edward (played by Robert Pattison). She is not ready for that. Bella is still followed by Victoria for her revenge. In this movie she creates an army of new born vampires with the help of Riely (played by Xavier Samuel). For Bella’s safety the warewolves and vampires has to act together. Jacob (played by Taylor Lautner) and Edward have to work together. Meanwhile Bella has to decide between Edward love of her life and Jacob her best friend.
“Eclipse” is action packed movie compared to earlier parts. The love triangle is come out much more strongly in this movie. Enjoy the brilliant actions and special effects in this movie. The main star cast better in this movie. For me David Slade directed the movie better than his predecessor. Cinematography of the movie enhanced the movie experience.
If I have to rate this movie I will give it 8 out of 10.

New Moon
Movie Review “NEW MOON” (2009)
Genre: Drama, Romance, Fantasy
Director: Chris Weitz
Writer: Melissa Rosenberg (screenplay), Steaphenie Meyer (Novel)
Language: English
Star Cast: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Billy Burke, Anna Kendrik, Ashley Green, Nikki Reed, Peter Facinelli and others
‘New Moon’ is second series of Twilight Saga which are adapted from Stephnie Meyer’s bestselling novels. Picking up where Twilight left off, ‘New Moon’ follows gloomy teenager Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart). In this movie Bella is dumped by her vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen (played by Robert Pattison). He dumps her for the fear of hurting her. So Bella as goes through emotional turmoil after Edward moves away from her leaving no traces. While going through this confusion Bella finds comfort in friendship with another boy Jacob Black (played by Taylor Lautner), who is in love with Bella. But Bella isn't tdestined to have a normal relationship as it turns out the hunky Jacob Black is also not normal human. He is a werewolf. Will Edward comeback? Will Bella able to forget Edward? Will Jacob win Bella?
This film has better action sequences than the first film. The scene in which Jacob first morphs into a werewolf and leaps onto another warewolf are absolutely stunning. And also werewolves chasing the Vampires were amazing to watch. But the novels strong points were romance and drama which wasn’t came out that well in this film. And I will say it was because of average acting skills. It could have been lot better. This movie is actually nothing but a link between first and third part. It was just to help you understand next part and as per novel it has much more drama and action. So I am looking forward to it.
If I have to rate this movie I will give it 7 out of 10.Friday, June 25, 2010
Movie Review: "TWILIGHT"
Movie Review “TWILIGHT”
Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Romance, Thriller
Director: Catherine Hardwicke
Writer: Melissa Rosenberg (Screenplay), Stephenie Meyer (novel)
Language: English
Star Cast: Kirsten Stewart, Robert Pattison, Billy Burke, Peter Facinellli, Elizabeth Reaser, and others
Released in India: 20th November 2009
“Twilight” is a movie based on Stephenie Meyer’s novel of same name. I read the book before watching the movie. I enjoyed the book very much. While reading the book you gets the feeling this is a story for movie. It has teenage romance, mystery, thriller, action and drama, all good for making a movie.
Twilight is a story of awkward teen Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart). She makes a hasty decision to move to Forks, Washington with his father. She hates Forks but still persists staying there for the sake of her mother. While in school she inescapably falls for a mysterious boy named Edward (played by Robert Pattinson). As the mystery unravel during the course of movie Bella come to know Edward is a Vampire. And one part of Edward loves her and some part certainly lust for her blood. How long can she carry on this fatal affair? Can she suppress her feelings? Can Edward be safe for her?
I enjoyed the book thoroughly; but I can’t say that about movie for sure. Director Catherine Hardwicke could not manage to convert excellent book into good enough movie. Some of its responsibility goes to screenplay also. Director did not able to portray the characters as well as in the book. This may be because of time limit but I won’t have mind watching the movie for half an hour more instead. Kristen Stewart was brilliant and natural. Robert Pattison was good. Special effects could have been more convincing.
If I have to rate this movie I will give it 6 out of 10.

Movie Review: "Love Aaj Kal"
Movie Review “Love Aaj Kal”
Genre: Romance, Love story
Director: Imtiaz Ali
Producer: Saif Ali Khan, Dinesh Vijan
Banner: Eros Entertainment, Illuminati Films
Language: Hindi
Music Director: Pritam Chakraborty
Star Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rishi Kapoor, Rahul Khanna, Vir Das, Raj Zutshi, and others
Release Date: 31st July 2009
‘Love Aaj Kal’ is the latest movie directed by Imtiaz Ali who is lately my favorite director. His Last two movies ‘Socha Na Tha’ and ‘Jab We Met’ listed in my ‘Must Watch Movies before you die…’ list. So I had to watch this movie. I was really eager to watch what Imtiaz comes up with this time.
As the title of the movie suggests movie describes the love story of last generation and today’s generation. The movie starts in London. Jai played by Saif Ali Khan and Meera played by Deepika Padukone met in pub and instantly clicked with each other. They become couple when their friends pint it out to them. But their relationship had to end as they both have to move to different countries, Jai to America and Meera to India for their respective career. As they both don’t want any commitment or maintain long distance relationship. They break-up with each other as any practical couple. They even celebrate their break-up with a break-up party. So they move on with their life. But there is uncompromising love developed between them which they both didn’t realize or rather don’t want to admit because they don’t think it is practical and outdated. So how will their love story be sorted out? Will their love be buried in their hearts forever? So there comes London Restaurateur Veer Singh played by Rishi Kapoor, and by saif ali khan as young Veer Singh. Veer Singh’s love story in 60’s is shown as answer to resolve the love story of Jai and Meera.
The movie is turned out to be a good entertaining movie but this movie was carrying lot of expectation because it was “Jab We Met” fame Imtiaz Ali’s movie. It is not close to ‘Jab we Met’ in any sense but for me it also failed to create the magic of ‘Socha Na Tha’. But still as an individual movie it is a good movie to watch. Imtiaz Ali again gone with his successful formula in this film of unrealized love between Hero and Heroine, which they realized at the end of the movie through many situations. But movie is really slow and sluggish in the first half for my liking. And I felt like almost nothing happened in the first half. I mean story told in first half could have been told in 15 minutes rather than one hour it took. We don’t get to know the characters that well as we did in ‘Jab We met ’. We still remember Geet and Aaditya of ‘Jab We met’; but I doubt that will be true for Jai and Meera.
As for performances Saif Ali Khan brilliantly as expected from him, Deepika did commendable job. Technically film is outstanding, good editing, good cinematography, very good music and background music. Screenplay could have been better considering it is Imtiaz Ali’s forte. If I have to rate the movie I’ll give it 6 out of 10.

"Jane Tu Ya Jane Na"
The movie has some fierce competition with another new comer’s movie “Love story 2050” top lining Harman Baweja. Who always looked like a Hero material. As compared to him Imran Khan never look to have that oomph factor but he certainly make up with his understanding of every scene and talent.
When the first promo come out of “Love story 2050” which shows Mumbai in 2050 with skyscrapers, flying planes and Harman Baweja posing with his name revolving around him, I was really excited about the movie. I thought, wow here is bollywood’s real Sci-fi movie. But when next promos start coming it wasn’t thrilling enough, they actually failed to lead me to the theatres. It seems Harry Baweja, the Director of the movie and also the father of Harman tried to hard to launch his son as a Hero. He seems to be want to give him great launch so he has to dance well, he has to have great body and everything else. And may be other stuff took back seat. Anyway I never watched the movie so I shouldn’t comment on it any way. But as I seen “Jane Tu….” Lead more people to the theatres than “Love Story 2050”, as for all weak-end “Jane Tu…” was houseful and “ Love Story..” was secondary thought for people.
On the contrary to “Love Story…”, first promo was “ Jane Tu…” wasn’t that good. But excitement build up with the promos after that. Promos tell me that its on youth, Light Hearted romantic movie. With catchy songs by A.R. Rahman. And then the producer was Aamir Khan which is almost equal to quality movie. Which I don’t think is true for any superstar in bollywood. I am big fan of Amitabh Bachchan but he also does movies like RGV’s Shole. Anyways that’s a different story. Aamir Khan was did great to promote this film, he even get along with media which he normally doesn’t do. If this movie has good start it is because of Aamir’s Brand image. But when you are in theatres and movie starts, never it occurs to you that Aamir is associated with this movie, and you don’t feel any need for it.
As for the movie, you always know the story even before going to movie; but you like to watch romantic movies and you like the new treatment every time. Movie is always a director’s medium of expression and Abbas Tyrwalla done amazing job. Being writer certainly help him. The movie has very good screenplay and you enjoy every scene. The casting of the movie also spot on. Everyone did fabulous job. It was flawless performance by everyone except Genelia, I think being experienced in the young cast she could have done better. The movie is in the league of these new era of romantic movies of Imtiaz Ali like “Socha Na Tha” and “Jab We met”.
I think success of any movies lies in the fact that you never want to end, you will like to go on or you wonder what might happen next. And “Jane tu …” give me that feeling. So it is certainly well made movie. And of course as usual music by A.R. Rahman is best.
What I can say more…It is must watch movie. And I will also advice you to archive th DVD when it comes out.
Cheers…..
